Contour makeup - what is it?
Not every woman can boast a naturally flawless lip shape, nor can anyone achieve the perfect natural colour with traditional makeup. The tattooing process eliminates flaws and makes your lips juicy without cosmetic pencils and tints. In our salon, permanent makeup artists use modern methods of contour pigmentation. For makeup, you choose a shade – nude or bright, depending on your natural skin tone.
Precise contours: for those who like contrasts
Girls trying permanent makeup for the first time usually opt for the contouring technique. This is a minor traumatic procedure; the needle goes along the contour of the lips, injecting the colour into the upper layers of the skin. Contouring is fast; on the site of punctures remains crust, which falls off after a few days. To contour does not look rough, it is essential to choose the right paint. It should not be radically different from the natural pigment of the lips. The girl should look natural even without makeup.
The choice of colour and shape of the lips depends on the wishes of the client and the peculiarities of her appearance.
A more modern variant is contouring with spreading. First, the master outlines the lips and then introduces a smaller amount of paint next to a brighter line, creating a fashionable ombré effect. With this technique, the lips look more voluminous; for natural makeup, applying a colourless or slightly tinted gloss on them is enough. Thanks to the blurred approach, the result of tattooing is preserved longer. Usually, correction is required not earlier than 1.5 years.
When is contouring indicated?
A master may recommend lip contour tattooing to:
- correct minor imperfections;
- visually lift drooping corners of the mouth;
- get rid of a fuzzy contour;
- restore the symmetry of the lines;
- make the appearance more expressive and attractive.
What we can do
- The permanent lip liner technique emphasises the lips’ natural beauty. It corrects minor irregularities in the contour (the colour is selected as close as possible to the natural one or slightly more intense).
- Contouring with light blending – allows you to get perfect lips with the effect of “plus volume”. This technique is used for the most significant number of procedures, as it helps to solve the most common aesthetic problems on the lips. This is the correction of contour asymmetry, age, mimic changes, and disproportions in the shape and volume of the lips.
- Deep Contouring Deep Contouring technique is commonly used to correct lip volume imbalances, camouflage scarring or unaesthetic lip colour, or add intensity to the lips.
- Visual volume correction, lifting and camouflage. Volumising, lifting and camouflage is a creative procedure usually involving more than one micropigmentation technique. The system is feasible thanks to the possibilities of micropigmentation equipment, as close as possible to the options of conventional makeup.
- The lip tattooing method “light or white kayl” involves drawing the lips and increasing their volume by painting the skin around them with light pigment.
Do “light kayl” to increase the lips’ volume and relieve them.
Advantages of the technique
Tattoo lip liner offers such benefits:
- bright and beautiful smile;
- no need for daily makeup;
- makeup does not need to be corrected during the day;
- saving on decorative cosmetics.
Contraindications
There are several restrictions in which it is not allowed to do lip tattooing:
- ACUTE RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS;
- pregnancy, lactation;
- diabetes mellitus in the decompression stage;
- viral diseases;
- allergy to the paint or its components;
- problems with blood coagulation;
- oncology.
It is also worth postponing the procedure if you have started menstruation (due to changes in the pain threshold).
How is tattooing carried out?
The tattooing procedure is a multi-step process that lasts 1.5-2 hours and includes the following:
- Cleansing of the area.
- A sketch is drawn for approximately 10-15 min.
- Natural colour is negotiated for around 5 min.
- Anaesthesia is applied for about 10-20 min.
- The colouring pigment is injected for approximately 40-45 min.
- Care is used, and care recommendations are given.
Before the procedure Lip liner, there is a consultation during which the permanent makeup artists will help you determine the optimal variant of necessary contours and shades. The colour range of permanent makeup is selected individually. It should harmonise with your general colour type and meet your image. After colour selection, a “rough drawing” is applied to the client’s skin, post which the master begins the procedure.
The master uses only high-tech modern equipment. During the process, the skin undergoes minimal trauma and subsequently heals quickly. An anaesthetic minimises pain, and skin piercing feels similar to light scratching. At the end of the procedure, a thin crust forms on the skin, which sheds within 3-5 days. Complete healing time occurs in 14-21 days, depending on the physiology of the client’s skin.
Recovery period
- During the first day, wash the tattooed area with purified cool water to prevent a thick crust from forming. As a last resort, if dryness occurs, you can use any oily cream or oil;
- From the second day, start using healing creams; apply them 3-4 times daily with a thin layer for 10-15 minutes, and remove the excess. After that, do not forget a protective layer of hygienic lipstick or sunscreen; let the crusts come off independently. Don’t tear or steam them off – you could get an infection;
- When tattooing lips, try not to drink hot coffee, tea, or mulled wine and do not eat hot soup for at least the first 2-3 days; forget about baths, saunas, solarium; the use of scrub, brightening cream and cosmetics with active fruit acids contributes to a faster fading of tattooing;
- After the crusts come off, use sunscreen for 3-4 weeks, this will protect the skin from the formation of pigment spots;
- After about a month, you need to come to the master for correction, without which the desired result will not be achieved.
